The 2021+ generation of the Tesla Model S looks quite similar to the earlier generations on the outside, but the updated Plaid and Long-Range models are built on an entirely new chassis architecture that relies on the battery pack as a structural element.  While being an engineering masterpiece by Tesla that lowers the center of gravity, the impactful result is an ultralight construction that allows for a significant amount of flexion in the upper portion of the chassis.
