The Mishimoto intercooler for Evo 8/9 is designed to be a perfect bolt-on replacement for the standard, factory Mitsubishi intercooler. It is made using a TIG welding system from high quality aluminum. It increases engine power through improved air cooling. According to Mishimoto, the power increase is about 23.5 hp compared to a standard intercooler.
