The S58 engine in the 2021+ G80 M3 builds on over 45 years of M3 heritage. Like previous generations, the G80 M3 offers significant power potential, but increased power demands improved cooling. Mishimoto has developed a charge air cooler manifold designed for high-performance applications.

The factory G80 M3 charge air cooler combines an intercooler and intake manifold, but its tube-and-fin core crimped to a thermoplastic plenum is a known weak point, often failing with only 3 lbs. of additional boost. Mishimoto addresses this with a cast aluminum, TIG-welded manifold featuring a robust bar-and-plate core, engineered to handle boost pressures over 60 PSI.

The Mishimoto charge air cooler offers a 33% larger core than stock and improves manifold flow by an average of 14% to each cylinder. The increased cooling capacity and optimized flow result in reduced pressure drop and intake air temperatures as low as 11 degrees above ambient under heavy load. The CFD-designed lower plenum includes an internal diverter for even flow distribution, and the cast, CNC-machined runners accept factory seals. A fiber gasket is included to insulate the runners from engine heat.

Note: Use of the included fuel rail is optional and for race-use only. The fuel rail has a tamper-proof sticker and may be removed only if the vehicle will no longer be used on the street or highway. Check local emissions regulations before removing.
