The Mishimoto Baffled Oil Catch Can Kit is designed for the WRX to prevent harmful blow-by vapors from re-entering the engine. The EJ25 engine in the WRX is prone to producing blow-by gases during both normal and aggressive driving, especially with increased boost and horsepower. These oil vapors can enter the intake system, lower the fuel's octane rating, and potentially cause detonation, which can negatively impact the EJ25 engine.

This kit features small baffled catch cans with a bronze filter and internal baffles to separate oil from crankcase vapors. The turbo inlet side uses a three-port baffled catch can to maximize oil vapor capture. Two direct-fit mounting brackets are included for easy installation and compatibility with right-hand drive vehicles. The kit also includes six direct-fit hoses designed to connect to the PCV valve ports and turbo inlet ports, with plastic barb fittings for secure attachment.

Mishimoto catch cans differ from most air-oil-separator (AOS) systems by not being heated, allowing all blow-by to condense in the can, including low-octane oil vapors and contaminated fuel vapors. Unlike most AOS systems that drain blow-by back into the oil pan, Mishimoto catch cans trap blow-by and keep it out of the engine permanently.

Installation Notes: 22 in-lbs (2.5NM) recommended for all worm-gear clamps. These clamps have an operating range of 18-27 in-lbs (2-3NM). Do not exceed the maximum torque rating of 27 in-lbs (3NM).

Note: This product fits both manual and automatic transmission vehicles, as well as RHD and LHD vehicles.

Recommendation: After installation, Mishimoto recommends checking the contents of the baffled catch can every 1,000 miles until a baseline is established. Oil blow-by accumulation will vary with ambient temperatures and driving conditions. It is important that the contents of the can do not rise above the internal baffle.
