The Mishimoto baffled oil catch can kit is designed to eliminate harmful blow-by vapors in the BRZ or GR86 intake. The FA24 engine in the BRZ/GR86 uses both direct and port injection to improve power delivery across the RPM range, while also reducing carbon buildup.

Although carbon buildup is less severe than in most direct-injected engines, blow-by can still negatively impact the intake tract. Oil and fuel vapors may condense on sensors, affecting their readings, and vapors entering the cylinders can increase the risk of knock and reduce power. The Mishimoto baffled oil catch can kit for the 2022+ Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR86 addresses these issues by separating oil, fuel, and water from blow-by gases.

The catch can kit features a 2-port compact baffled oil catch can, which uses a bronze filter, air turbulators, and an internal baffle to condense and store contaminants away from the intake. The kit includes a 3mm-thick steel mounting bracket to secure the catch can away from engine vibration, molded hoses for direct fitment, and O-ring sealed, CNC-machined aluminum fittings for a leak-free installation.

Installation Notes: 22 in-lbs (2.5NM) recommended for all worm-gear clamps. These clamps have an operating range of 18-27 in-lbs (2-3NM). Do not exceed the maximum torque rating of 27 in-lbs (3NM).

Recommendation: After installation, Mishimoto recommends checking the contents of the baffled catch cans every 1,000 miles until a baseline is established. Oil blow-by accumulation will vary with ambient temperatures and driving conditions. It is important that the contents of the can do not rise above the internal baffle.
