The Girodisc system serves as a high-performance direct replacement for the original equipment brake disc, requiring no permanent modifications. Supplied with precision caliper spacers, the kit accommodates an increased rotor diameter of 350 mm compared to the factory 330 mm setup. This enlargement enhances both braking torque and thermal capacity, resulting in superior stopping power and improved fade resistance under demanding conditions.

The rotor’s central hat section is CNC-machined from U.S.-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, while the outer disc is cast from Girodisc’s proprietary iron alloy, developed and produced entirely in the USA. The internal curved vane structure, derived from motorsport engineering, acts as a centrifugal air pump that accelerates cooling airflow through the rotor for consistent temperature management and long-term performance stability.

The hat and rotor are connected using a fully floating system featuring ten high-strength alloy steel drive pins, cadmium plated for extended corrosion resistance. These pins, secured with class 12.9 cap screws and hardened washers, transfer braking loads while maintaining precise axial and radial float. Anti-noise spring washers ensure quiet operation during cold conditions while allowing the rotor to expand under heat, preventing unwanted vibration and keeping the disc self-centered between the pads. Once installed, only the cast iron rotor ring requires replacement when worn.
