Description GIRODISC A1-007 Front Brake Rotor Kit for SUBARU BRZ (ZD8) with Brembo Calipers / TOYOTA GR86 (ZN8) with Brembo Calipers
The Girodisc front replacement rotor rings are precision-engineered from a proprietary high-carbon cast iron alloy formulated specifically to Girodisc’s metallurgical standards. This advanced material composition provides exceptional durability, improved resistance to heat cracking, and consistent braking performance under extreme thermal stress. The rotors feature 30 curved internal vanes that function as a centrifugal pump, actively drawing air through the hub to maximize cooling efficiency during high-performance driving.
The two-piece floating design enables the reuse of the aluminum hat, which can be fitted with new rotor rings when required. All Girodisc components, including hats, rotor rings, and drive pins, are manufactured in-house at the company’s facility in Bellingham, Washington, from domestically sourced materials. The hats are CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with black anodizing for superior corrosion resistance and strength. Drive pins are made from high-strength steel alloy and cadmium-plated for extended longevity. Each assembly includes spring clips and Belleville washers to provide controlled float for optimal heat expansion while eliminating noise during operation, ensuring both race-level precision and street comfort.
It is recommended to replace the rings once the thickness reaches 28 mm or if a crack extends to the outer edge of the ring. This serviceable construction ensures long-term cost efficiency and sustained braking performance.
