Every tuner knows a simple rule: air is potential, but fuel is realization. You can bolt on a massive turbocharger, but if your injectors can't deliver enough fuel or your pump sags under load, your engine will turn into scrap metal in seconds due to a lean condition. DeatschWerks (DW), based in Oklahoma City, specializes exclusively in high-performance fuel systems. They don't do suspension or exhaust. Their sole mission is to keep your engine fed.

Dynamic Flow Matching: Why DW Injectors Are Superior

Many companies sell "performance" injectors. Often, these are just drilled-out stock units. DeatschWerks uses Dynamic Flow Matching technology.
What does this mean? Standard injectors are balanced statically (at 100% open duty cycle). That's easy. But in real life, an injector opens and closes thousands of times a minute. DW tests and matches injectors in sets by measuring performance at multiple pulse widths: 2ms (idle), 4ms (cruise), and 10ms (acceleration).
The Result: You get a set where every injector delivers the same amount of fuel not just at wide-open throttle, but also at idle. This ensures smooth engine operation, no vibration, and easy tuning.

The Ethanol Era: E85 Compatibility

Ethanol (E85) is the cheapest way to get 105+ octane race fuel performance. But ethanol has two downsides: it requires 30-40% more fuel volume, and it is hygroscopic (absorbs water), which causes corrosion.
All DeatschWerks components (pumps, injectors, regulators, lines) are engineered for aggressive E85 environments. Pump internals are anodized, injectors use stainless steel, and seals are made of Viton, which does not dry out or crack from alcohol exposure.

Fuel Pumps: DW vs. The Competition

The heart of the system. DW offers a wide range of in-tank and in-line pumps. A key feature is "Fitment." DW pumps often drop into factory baskets without the need for zip-ties or hacking up the housing.

Complete Approach: Lines, Fittings, and Regulators

Surge Tanks: Eliminating Fuel Starvation

For circuit racing and drifting, DW developed modular Surge Tanks. When you corner at 1.5G, fuel in the main tank sloshes to one side, starving the pickup. The engine gulps air and can fail.
The DW Modular Surge Tank system stores 2.5-3.5 liters of fuel in a separate reservoir, housing powerful DW pumps inside. This guarantees consistent fuel delivery under any G-force condition.


Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I need a tune after changing pumps/injectors?

Absolutely. Installing larger injectors without ECU remapping will cause the engine to flood, fail to start, or run poorly. Installing a high-flow pump can also overcome the stock regulator, raising rail pressure, which also requires tuning correction.

What is "Injector Data" and why do I need it?

In every DW injector box, you will find a flash drive or link to data. These are calibration tables (Latency, Dead Time, Flow Rate). Your tuner simply copies these numbers into the tuning software. It saves hours of dyno time and ensures perfect drivability.

Are DW pumps noisy?

DW rotary pumps (200/300 series) are known for being quiet compared to competitors like Walbro (which have a characteristic whine). However, extreme performance pumps (DW400) will be audible at idle; this is the trade-off for massive flow.
